SCHAUMBURG - Roman Prokopij, 64. Born May 14, 1950 in Canada to Andrew and Maria Prokopij, passed away June 11, 2014. He was the beloved father of Natalie (Frank) Stark, Michael and Thomas Prokopij; proud grandfather of Frankie, Sullivan, Marianna and Mac Stark; and loving brother of Irene Burr. Roman was a retired Palatine postal worker. Visitation Friday, June 13, 3-8 PM. Funeral Saturday, June 14, 10:30 AM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Interment St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alexian Brothers Hospice, 1515 E. Knowing Roman over 25yrs was a God-send for me. We were like brothers. His humor was great for what ailed you. He didn't just love you, he was in love with you. I got to experience it 1st hand and it was fantastic. Miss ya bro!
