1940 - 2014
Died Monday, July 28, 2014 in Ottawa. Son of Pat and Gert Tysick and Blanche Dyelle. Adored husband of Barbara Martin and father of Emma Tysick (Mike Carey). Dear brother of Theresa, Diane, Joanne and Red (deceased). Much loved by many, especially his in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews and Norma (Peter) Martin. Ron served as Librarian with the Ottawa Citizen for over 40 years. He was a cowboy wannabe, avid canoeist, ace dog trainer, ardent gardener and outdoor adventurer. A Gathering to remember the joy Ron brought to so many lives will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014. The family may be contacted through [email protected]. Donations in memory of Ron may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society, who provided Ron with Bert, the four-legged love of his life.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Ron in person only through some of the stories you have shared with me in those brief moments after the aquafit class.

I am so sorry to hear about Ron's passing. He was such a warm and gentle soul. I have fond memories of coming over when I was a young girl and drinking lime cordial while chatting with you, Barb, and Ron about the world around us. I can't express how saddened I am to hear of the passing of my darling darling Brother Ron. He was a very special gentleman and if all on earth had his delightful personality it would make the world a better place. My happy thought is that Ron is now with mommy, daddy, aunt Blanche and Red having tea and toast and Bert laying at his side. Thank you Barbara for loving my brother, he adored you and Emma and you made his life complete.

Hi my name is Helen Dyelle i am the daughter of Alderic Dyelle, Gert and Blanche's brother...Ron was my cousin we did not see much of each other in alot of years but i remember him from when we were young. We send our deepest sympathy to the familly this is very sad.Ron and the familly used to come to Davidson on Thanks Giving we would be around 40 to 50 people crowded in a house for Thanks Giving supper and we would alway have so much fun and very good memories, i only wish that we could of kept this a tradition so that we would keep more in touch with each other.Ron was a kind wondeful big hearted man and i am very sad that he has passed away. I have shared so many great memories of Uncle Ron with my husband and daughter over the years.
His character, witty humor, determination, and spirit influenced me very much when I was growing up.
I loved hearing about his outdoor adventures and stories of all the amazing friendships he had.
When he walked into a room, he had such a genuinely warm and wonderful presence, you just wanted to be around him. He had a smile and a laugh that was contagious and made me feel so happy, that will always be with me.
Uncle Ron was one of a kind and I'm so grateful I had him in my life growing up.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to you and the family on Ron's passing. Words can't express how saddened we are to hear of your loss. Cherish all the wonderful memories. I knew Ron even before I started at The Citizen in 1965. Back in 2009, you may recall, he was happy to give Bill, my sister Sue & I a tour of Washington, when you were working there and we were passing through on our drive down to Orlando. He was so proud of his family and we had many conversations about Emma, when she was growing up. Ron will not be forgotten.

Ron was so loved. I will never forget the days at the cabin, canoeing down the rapids, and also his everyday kindness. Ron had an amazingly peaceful soul, which was also so filled with joy. Bar and Emma - it was always so obvious that you were the fuel behind the twinkle in his eyes.
