He also served as a Director of eight companies including XL Capital Ltd. and as a Trustee of The College of Wooster, where a dormitory "Bornhuetter Hall" has also been built. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, his two children Ronald Jr. and Linda and his grandchildren Daniel and William Gridley; and two step-daughters Jenette and Christine and his grandchildren Harley, and Tilly Griffiths and Chrystal deGarmo. Visitation will be at the Leo Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Greenwich on Tuesday, October 20 from 6-8pm with the funeral service on Wednesday, October 22 at 9:30am at the First Presbyterian Church, Greenwich CT. Memorials may be sent to the College of Wooster, Wooster, OH.

To Linda & Skip,
I was so shocked to hear of your Dad's illness and death. I was just informed this weekend of his passing and had just found out from a cousin at the beginning of October that he had some form of cancer. Ron was a very generous person and he will be greatly missed. We were truly blessed to have known him. I hope you find comfort in the memories you have of your Dad, he was very special and made all our lives better for knowing him. I am so very sorry for your loss and our loss.

I never knew Ron Ferguson but as an actuary I know that the world is a better place for his having been in it.

My heartful sympathy to his family.
