Ronald Romero Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2022.
Ronald M. "Rox" Romero went to be with our Lord on April 15, 2022 at the age of 73. He was a beloved father of four surviving children, Jodi Romero of Albuquerque, NM, Poppy Romero of Denver, CO, Sunny Romero of Albuquerque, NM and Honey Showery of Albuquerque, NM; as well as grandad to two grandchildren, Rozee Dominguez of Finger, TN and Mateo Showery of Tucson, AZ; and three great-grandchildren, Julian, Jacob and Jael Dominguez.
He was born to Lena Baca and Sam Romero, the youngest of three children. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Edith and Bill. Known as Ronnie to his family, he later adopted the nickname Rox.
After high school, he got married and joined the Army. Upon leaving the Army, he drove a semi-truck as an independent truck driver. He later worked for Halliburton in the oil fields of Prairington, TX and finally had a career in commercial real estate, owning a property management company before retiring.
During his lifetime, Ronald was a brilliant musician who played the guitar and wrote music with passion and soul. He was also an artist, sketching and painting many beautiful landscapes. He encouraged his children in the arts; to sing, play instruments, write poetry, paint and draw. He patiently taught his children life skills and will be remembered always as a wise, dynamic and vibrant person. Most notably, he was a man who raised his children in the way of the Lord.
At the time of his death, Ronald was living in Aguilar, CO.

I am very saddened by reading this. Ron's friendship was very special to me. I've wanted to see him for a long time but couldn't track him down. I've bought a place back in New Mexico and one of the first things I wanted to do was make a serious effort to find him. There was nobody else like him. He was intensity passionate about learning the deeper mysteries of life. I hope he found some peace in this world.

I love you daddy, thank you for showing me the way. I know you're with Jesus in heaven and we will see each other again someday. Until that time, please know I've loved you dearly and I'm so sorry you suffered so much here on earth. You are free now, I'm so grateful for that. I'm the person I am today because of your love. Your loving daughter, Honey
