Rosanne Pingitore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 26, 2025.
Rosanne Ellen (Robinson) Pingitore passed away on May 16, 2025. She was born on December 4, 1937, to Dorothy and Arthur Robinson in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was raised by her mother and stepfather (Walter Anderson). She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, attended Park College in Parkville, MO and graduated from Douglass College (Rutgers University) in New Jersey with a BSW. She worked as a medical secretary and then as a protective services clerk until she received her degree. At that time, she was promoted to Social Services Aide and then to Social Caseworker and eventually Social Work Supervisor. A position she held until she retired from the State of New Jersey's Division of Youth and Family Services in July of 2003. Her 'kids' ran up to her if they saw her on the boardwalk or in a supermarket and hugged her years after they were no longer under the supervision of the state. She loved her work and continued to care about her clients after they were grown and had families of their own.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack, her five children, Richard Rydinsky, Stephanie McCabe, Pamela Kellett (Tim), Johnna McBride and Bryan Blackmon; her 12 grandchildren, Jessica Schneider (Andrew), Michael Rydinsky, Tito Rydinsky (Kim), Ryan McCabe, Caitlyn Rydinsky (Jake), Adelaide Kellett, Grace Kellett, David Rydinsky, Alison McBride, Colin Kellett, Megan McBride, Sami McBride; her 4 great grandchildren, Elias Nash, Frances Schneider, Vera, Nash, Margret Schneider, plus numerous, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Oakes, father, Arthur Robinson, stepfather Walter Anderson, sister, Carole Bryant and her niece Elizabeth Reilly. She loved telling stories about her family and especially her mother's mother her "Nanny" and how they loved doing things together in Iowa.

She was an avid traveler and took the family with her a lot of the time. She loved going to her condo in Covington, LA with her husband Jack and attending Mardi Gras celebrations, the New Orleans Jazz Fest, the French Quarter Fest as well as numerous spring and fall festivals. She had family there and loved spending time with them as well. She enjoyed Muffalettas and Beignets and walking through the antique and jewelry shops in the French Quarter. She was a fan of Al Hirt, (famous New Orleans trumpeter), and even went to the Al Hirt Club to hear him play. She especially enjoyed going to the French Quarter when her sister Carole was alive and able to join her.

She loved going to Williamsburg and walking the old village and watching the parades and colonial events. While in Williamsburg, she enjoyed watching her family ride on the attractions at Busch Gardens and USA Water Country. The visits to the historical places were high on her list of things to do. She always researched the site before she went so we all knew its place in history. Sometimes we would watch a movie if there was one available. She always made sure to stop in the gift shop on the way out and pick up souvenirs for the "kids".

She joined her friends in the Adirondacks, cross country skiing, hiking and boating whenever she could. She liked the mountains in all seasons and had favorite spots. She also found historical sites there and enjoyed taking in their rich history, actually talking to a Teddy Roosevelt impersonator and asking him questions.

One of her true loves was reading to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would read the same book over and over again, no matter how many times she was asked she always complied, having as much fun as the listener.

She liked going to the boardwalk in the summer and dancing along with Jay Danceman with her daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters, especially to the oldies.

She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or holiday, carefully selecting a card and adding a heart-felt message inside. She loved shopping for her "children" and

spent hours selecting outfits, toys or that special gift that was hand-picked for that child. She especially loved Christmas and spending time with her loving family. They will miss her tender words, sweet smile and loving demeanor.

She was loved by everyone she came in contact with and will be missed every day.

In lieu of flowers please send a contribution to the American Lung Association in Rosanne's name.
