Rose Emily Ford

Rose Emily Murphy Ford passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, after a brief illness. Mrs. Ford was born October 27, 1916, in Mobile, Alabama, where she attended Wright's Girls Preparatory School and Murphy High School. She attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. She was the organizing President of the Anola Club, co-founder of the Magnolia Garden Club, co-founder of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, and was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Rose was an avid bridge player and belonged to various bridge clubs. Mrs. Ford was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Captain John G. Murphy and Annie Mae Newbury Murphy, her husband Robert Sedgwick Ford, her daughter Terrell Ann Pike Ford, brothers-in-law Ebb Ford, Jr. and Charles Ford, and nephews Ebb Ford, III and Warren Ford. Mrs. Ford is survived by her daughters, Catherine Ford Brister, Margaret Ford Murphy (Malcolm), and son, Robert Sedgwick Ford, Jr. (Twila); her grandchildren Linda Pike Miller (Glenn), Lorelei Ford, Marie Murphy Joachim (John), Catherine Murphy Koelliker (Chris), Robert Murphy (Amanda ), and Williams Murphy (Heather). Rose is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, her sister Rena Murphy Ford, and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be in the Parish Hall at St. John's Episcopal Church from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Tuesday March 11, 2014. Funeral services are to be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Pascagoula. Her family respectfully requests that contributions in her memory be made to the Endowment Fund of St. John's Episcopal Church of Pascagoula.
