I´m way behind the curve. I never was the ballplayer I thought I was. Fran was an exceptional teacher, and, more so, was an exceptional human being.

While I was attending her class my mother was hospitalized for cancer surgery. Fran went to the hospital and sat with Mom during a tough and emotional time. Think about that. If you happen to be a teacher, think even more.

Not only did she do that for me, she lobbied for me to be accepted to The Colorado College. I was accepted, and I graduated in 1975. I was, and always will be indebted to Dr. Roohr. Hopefully, Fran, you are resting in peace.

I had Dr. Roohr many years ago at PPCC and I just enjoyed her, and her class, so much. She was a wonderful person and a wonderful teacher.

Fran hired me as a full-time English instructor in 1971. As my Division Director for many years, she offered sage advice and thoughtful insights into my new profession. She exuded warmth and compassion toward all faculty, that created a more cohesive relationship between teachers and administration. With her easy laugh, we were a relaxed faculty.
She was also a friend.
