Rosemary Claiborne

We celebrate the life of Rosemay Fernandez-Claiborne, 89 of New Orleans, who passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on July 5,2025. Rosemary was born to Henry and Cecil Fernandez on June 6. 1936. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In her early years she worked as a custodian at Delgado Community College, until she became a homemaker. Rosemary loved cooking and caring for her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Rosemary enjoyed traveling and was always willing to feed anyone who needed a homecooked meal. Rosemary is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Cecile Fernandez; her Husband of 54 years Edward Claiborne Sr; son Edward Claiborne Jr; 2 grandsons Keith Claiborne and Cleo Claiborne Jr, and 13 siblings. She leaves behind to cherish her children, MaryAnn Hubbard, Cleo (Darlene) Claiborne, Lisa (Keith) Hebreard, and Angela (Herman) Cade, her 2 sisters Carman Langford and Leona Williams, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Rosemary was a beacon of light to everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed!

Memorial Service will be held at Charbonnet-Labat Funeral Home

1615 St Philip St, New Orleans, LA 70116 on August 1, 2025. Viewing will start at 9:00am and the service will began at 10:00am .
