OTTUMWA — Rosemary L. Bickel Latham, 88, died at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 11, 2008, at Good Samaritan Society, Ottumwa, after an extended illness.She was born May 2, 1920 in Fremont, Iowa to Linford and Inez Schultz Albertson. She married Ormel Bickel Feb. 14, 1939. To this marriage four children were born. She married George Latham Oct. 10, 1953. He preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1983.A graduate of Fremont High School in 1938, she was a member of Elizabeth Ross Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a resident of Fremont before moving to Ottumwa in 1973. She was a cook at Fremont schools and at Good Samaritan. She enjoyed baking, cooking, flowers, and helping on the family farm.Surviving are three sons, LeRoy (Sandra) Bickel of Burlington, Dean (Judy) Bickel of Keokuk and Keith Bickel of Marshalltown; a daughter, Rachel (Don) Krouse of Agency; eight grandchildren, Julie Smith of Burlington, Amie Dunkin of Burlington, Tyler Bickel of Madison, Wis., Nathan Bickel of Denver, Colo., Eric Bickel of Olathe, Kan., Troy Krouse of Gilbert, Ariz., Tim Krouse of Kirksville, Mo., Terry Bickel of Laurel, Iowa; 15 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Helene Johnson; and a great-grandson.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Dvorak officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery, Fremont.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.Memorials may be made to Fremont United Methodist Church.Obituary may be viewed at: www.legacy.com/ottumwacourier/Obituaries.asp
