PEORIA - Rosemary Pratt of Peoria passed away at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011, at her residence.
She was born May 18, 1932, in Peoria to George Wytcherley and Muriel (Nesselhaus) Wytcherley. She married Charles Pratt on Aug. 19, 1950, and together they had six children.
She passed away at home surrounded by family as well as her loving dog, Caylee, who never left her side.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Pratt (fiance Joe Wojtesky) of Peoria, Rebecca (Phil) England of Peoria, Charles (Teri) Pratt of Minonk, Therese (Steve) Bivins of Fayetteville, Ark., Julie (Dave) Gyorkos of LeRoy and John (Julie) Pratt of San Jose, Calif. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Charles, Shonna, Sara, Holly, Heather, Daniel, Adrienne, April, Christopher, Katelyn, Jonathon, David and Noah; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, Chaylynn, Chaise, Amiah, Alexis, Drew, Elijah, Elaina, Autumn, Edwin, Reed, Hannah and Liliana. She is also survived by one brother, Ron (Cindy) Hawotte of Sunnyland; her sister-in-law, Gene Wytcherley of Washington; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Glen Wytcherley; one sister, Irene; one granddaughter, Linnea; and her son-in-law, Raymond Dismang.
Rosemary worked at First National Bank and later Dunlap Bank. After retirement, she also worked at the Lutheran Hillside Village, and she also enjoyed taking her pets to Manor Care for pet therapy for the residents living there.
In addition, she treasured the dogs she had as companions over the years and was very grateful to Pets for Seniors for providing several of these pets. She took in many elderly dogs, and they were all loving companions.
The family would like to thank OSF Hospice, especially Ro, and Josie, Sherran and Chris, who assisted with her care.
She was a longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria, later attending Sacred Heart and St. Joseph.
She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Weakley officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the rosary at 6:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
