Roudy Ford Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 25, 2017.
Visitation services for Roudy Joe Ford will be conducted on Friday, September 29th, 2017 from noon until 6:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel. Online condolences for his family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Roudy Joe Ford was born on April 6th,1969 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Cleo Oliver "Junior" and Iva Jean (Hensley) Ford. He grew up with his sister Dawn Michelle and his brother, Andy, and graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1987. Roudy then began his studies at Northeastern State University studying psychology and philosophy. He had been born with a condition that limited his mobility, but he never let that slow him down or stop his progress. He was the proud father of one son, Braxus Ford and one daughter, Andrea Briggs, and was so very proud of all their achievements. He was always happiest in the fall when the leaves fell, the family, accompanied by his friends Grover Howard and Tracy Tedder, would go deer hunting and soon he would be cutting up deer meat for the winter. He was always ready to accompany Donna and Tommy to the old fishing hole, and bets were placed as to who would catch the biggest fish, or lie the best about the one that "got away". Roudy liked to play video games and Dungeons and Dragons with his buddy David and his little sister, Crystal Coats. In later years, he liked to go to yard sales, and the sales held at the community building, looking for a bargain. Roudy liked to cut up and talk with his friends, and he always had friends around. Roudy was a true friend, a thoughtful son, a loving brother and a concerned father. A Buddhist by faith, Roudy was firm believer in live and let live. Roudy began to have problems with his health and moved to Grace Living Center. He continues to tease the nursing staff and people whenever he got the chance. Roudy passed from this life on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 in Tahlequah. He was 48 years old. He will be greatly missed.

Roudy is preceded in death by his mother, father, his sister, Dawn Michelle Ford, his uncle Donny Hensley, and his grandparents, James and Marie (Bark) Hensley.

Roudy is survived by his brother, Andy Jack Ford of Stilwell, and his children, Braxus Ford and Andrea Briggs both of Tahlequah, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.

I went to Briggs with Joe, we played basketball for Speedy. I haven't seen him since our junior year. I never knew that he had a disability; he was always running and jumping. I remember him as being very active, tall and lanky. I'm sad to hear that he passed. My condolences to Andy as well as Joe's kids and loved ones.
