Roy Arbogast Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 24, 2025.
ROY E. ARBOGAST from Barnwell, SC (Boiling Springs), sadly, was called Home too soon. He was born in 1947 and died on July 19, 2025. He lived a full happy life. His greatest joys were his family and music. He loved bluegrass and old country. He leaves behind a wife (Shelley) of 56 years, a daughter (Whitney Smith), four grandchildren (Grant Williams, Ethan Smith, Kathryn Smith and Grey Brady) and one great granddaughter (Adeline Wiliams).

Roy comes from a very large family in South Carolina. He leaves family and friends in Boiling Springs, Barnwell, SC, Jacksonville, FL, Dawsonville, GA, Elijay, GA, Linville, WV, Augusta, GA, Beaufort, SC, Sparta, GA, Tennessee, Arkansas, Seattle, WA, Madison, GA, Athens, GA, Jacksonville, NC, Watkinsville GA and Eatonton, GA.

Roy was a kind, thoughtful, peaceful and loving man. He will miss playing his guitars and jamming with his bluegrass friends. We pray he is playing music in Heaven with the Angel Band.

No service or memorial planned. His ashes will be placed in his family's graveyard.

Roy was my best friend in grade school. I remember him at about 10 years old playing the quitar and signing BJ the DJ for his dad.
