On Saturday March 11, 2017. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father. Dad had been dealing with a slow decline for several years with Alzheimer's, and more recently cancer. Although his awareness of time and short term memory faded, we were so pleased that he still knew all of us by name, right to the end. And, he missed Mum every day these past 12 years. He was a devoted husband and father to all of us and spent much of his life working very hard to support us. Dad later extended generous support to others through hundreds of charities. Beloved husband of the late Melba McGregor (Wardlaw). Devoted and dear father of Rob (Leith) of Vancouver, Ted (Kim) and Bruce (Karen). Loving Grand- dad of Katie, Ceilidh, Jennie, Stephen, Ciaran, Devin and Nia. Predeceased by his mother Willo McGregor and his brothers and sisters, Gordon, Les, Alex, Stewart, Jean, Dorothy and Jim (Beth). Friends are invited to join Roy's family at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Friday, March 17 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be held Saturday in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m, with visitation beginning at 9:30. Reception at Hulse, Playfair and McGarry to follow interment at Pinecrest Cemetery. A big thank-you to the staff at Stillwater Creek where Roy recently moved for care. And, many thanks to everyone at The Court at Barrhaven and Homewatch who provided many services for dad in the last few years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shepherds of Good Hope or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
