GREENSBORO — Mrs. Ruby Campen Schultheiss, age 71, passed away February 19, 2012, in the Blumenthal Center of Greensboro.
Mrs. Schultheiss was born in High Point on August 17, 1940 to the late George "Bob" and Corrie Ferguson Campen. She graduated from High Point High School and Jones Business College in High Point. On June 10, 1960, she married Gerald W. "Jerry" Schultheiss Sr., who survives. They renewed their vows in a ceremony on June 12, 2010. Mrs. Schultheiss was a homemaker and for many years a volunteer for Greensboro area schools. Family and friends remember her as an ardent Washington Redskins and Page High School football fan who was a longtime fixture at Pirates' games.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Gerald W. Schultheiss, Jr. and wife Sherri of Knightdale; a daughter, Robin S. Woolard and husband Russell of Leesburg, VA; four grandchildren; Nicole, Alex, and Erin Schultheiss and Ashlyn Huston; and two sisters, Barbara Brooks of Okeechobe, Fla. and Katy Susan Harris of Kernersville.
The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave. High Point, NC 27262. There will be no formal funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Special Olympics, 2200 Gateway Center Boulevard, Suite 201, Morrisville, NC 27560.
