Rudolph Mestrovich Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 8, 2025.
Rudy passed away quietly on May 21, 2025 in Manteca, California.

An east Bay Area native, dad was hard-working and dedicated. He spent nearly 30 years on the waterfront working as a longshoreman, and was then able to enjoy a 22 year retirement.

Despite taking his responsibilities, seriously, he always made time for his family and passions. Dad was a creative man who could build almost anything, make every plant to thrive, throw exquisite pottery, cook like a chef, and dance to just about any music. He loved playing and being silly with his kids, and later, his grandkids. He shared his love of these joys with all of us, leaving us a bright light that will never fade.

Dad was a devoted husband and partner of 60 years to Mom, the late Bonnie Mestrovich, 1940-2016. He survived by his daughter, Cindy Mazzone and son Marc Mestrovich to whom he was a loving and generous father. He was adored by his grandchildren Michael, 29 and Natalie, 26 Mazzone.

Rudy will be dearly missed. He and Bonnie were so fortunate to keep many lifelong friends, and as a circle of families, we all share so many special memories. These memories and their strength and devotion will live on in us, and give us the comfort and the fortitude to continue their legacy.

A celebration of life will be held at his daughter Cindy's home in Danville California on Saturday, June 14 at 1 PM. Please join us to honor this very special man.

Per their wishes, a private burial at sea for both mom and dad is planned for a later date.
