Mamie,
My Sister, Sandra Parker, always told me your mom would ask about me.
I live in Tennessee now and remember all the fun times we had together when I lived on Harold Ave. around the corner from you.
Your mom was a special lady! Thank
God for examples of her life as a Christian home maker.

Love you,

Susan Tillman King

My deepest sympathy to the family of "Miss" Baby Ruth. She and my mother,Martha Poole Clark, were best of friends from high school and until Mother died in 2001. I remember Mother talking about "Miss" Baby since I was a child and after I met her I could easily see why Mother loved her so. She was a dear lady and will be missed by so many. We are so sorry to hear about Baby Ruth. I remember her so well, also "Buster" & Mamie when she was a little thing!
I also remember when Baby Ruth worked at Dr. Fenn's - as he was our Dr.
The first cake I ever made I went to the Americus Cook book & there was Baby Ruth's White Icing recipe - I had never made such & followed her directions & WOW! you would have thought I had been making cakes all my life! We had many birthday cakes in our family from Baby Ruth - Lemon Cheese for my Daddy, "Buck" Howell & chocolate w/chocolate icing for me!
Our world is poorer today w/her gone but know she is in a better place.
Our prayers, thoughts & love to the family.

What a beautiful and sweet lady was "Baby Ruth." I fondly remember the delicious cakes she used to bake. She was so faithful to the Lord through Central Baptist and I remember seeing her and hugging her just this past December as I visited again. She had her usual beautiful smile and warm greeting.

Mamie, I am sadden to hear of your mother's death. She was a dear friend for a long time, as are you. Even though I haven't seen you for so long, I still cherish my memories of knowing you and Baby Ruth. I think of her often and know how much she will be missed by you and your family and Americus in general. Love, Shirley
