Ruth HOTCHKISS Obituary
December 25, 1917 - March 1, 2012
Ruth died of natural causes at her home with her daughter Sandra.Ruth is the last of the generation of Lena and George Colby. Mom leaves six children; Leonard (Leslie), George (Isabell), Jean (Alex), James (Ellen), Joyce (Ralph), Sandra (Albert), eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ruth is predeceased by her husband Charles Freddrich, June 1971, one grandchild and one great-great- grandchild, brothers; George, Ed, Ivor, Frank, Bruce, Gordon and Charlie, sisters; Jean, Marie, Avis, Sara and Ester.
Ruth enjoyed the many friends she made over the years. She loved to bake, cook, garden, knit, crochet, yodel, play cards, and her favorite animal being horses. She was a loving person and a wonderful Mom not only to her own children but to many more. Mom will be missed but also know she is in a better place. Say hello to your mom from her granddaughter. May you rest in peace Mom. Thanks to my husband Albert and my two children and grandchildren for their help in her care and others who also helped. Thanks to Isabell Paranteau for helping with Moms care since her hip replacement.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Society of Alberta #314 Circle Square, 11808 St. Albert Trail T5L4G4 or the charity of your choice. A Celebration of her life will take place at a later date.

I loved my nanny very much and I miss her more and more each day. I have so many picture of us around my house and it keeps me going in hard times. She was such a strong lady, and someone I will always look up too!
