I miss Ruth so much. She was always such a kind and loving person and we fell in love with her incredible art. We have 5 incredible paintings of hers in our home and one that is very rare and is one of one called the Mood. Unfortunately due to financial difficulties we are selling the Mood if any one is interested.

I met Ruth, in her Laguna Gallery, over 25 years ago. I was delighted to go over her paintings with her and purchased an A/P from her. She was responsible for my dabbling in oil painting .May the angels watch over Ruth as they do so over me in my painting, "Haven's Enchanted Forest".

I just found out that my favorite artist pasted away in 2023. I will miss her very much and enjoyed visiting with her in her Laguna Beach gallery. I am so in awe of her work, and we have lost a great lady.

I just came across the notice for Ruth. After the death of my daughter, Sierra Beth Soto, who was taken from me on May 3rd, 1999, I took refuge at a friend´s home in Laguna Beach. My father was with me to console me and as we strolled the streets in Laguna, we came across Ruth´s gallery and she was there. She was so kind. I saw the painting of a horse running behind a blond woman down the beach, my father asked me what I saw and I said, "this is how I want to feel". He bought that painting for me and I discovered all the hidden messages and comfort that this painting has brought me, even to this day. Thank you, Ruth for your comfort, inspiration, and healing through your work at a time when I needed it the most.

I just found out Ruth has left and am so surprised it´s hard to believe. It wasn´t that long ago I spoke with her at her gallery.
I love her art and she will be so missed by so many. Especially the twin towers painting she painted before the terrible 9/11 event. She had such insight for future events. I am sorry to hear bout the passing of Ruth Mayer. I had a meaningful encounter with Ruth in Catalina Island. I will always cherish the memories I shared with her and the painting I purchased hours before marriage. I will always have her in my memories by reflecting on the skies she paints while the sunset is setting.

What a great spirit!!! The moment I was privileged to meet her I loved her. She took us by the hand to the beach to take pictures and then painted us into our giclee. I have an original back from 1985!! What a talent!!! Can you imagine what she is doing in heaven!!!!!!!

I have 4 of Ruth's painings and 1 original of my family that I commissioned her to paint. She was always so sweet. She came to my house (with Randy) and painted me into "Artist Garden". Ruth enhanced my paintings and re-signed them. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

I once saw a single painting from Ruth back in the 90's and it was one of the most beautiful compositions I had ever seen. I never made it to the Pagent of the Masters nor did I haunt the galleries of Laguna Beach - but one thing is certain - I never forgot this lovely artists name. Our hearts are broken to just hear of Ruth´s passing. We were delighted to have met her early in her career in Laguna, had coffee together and visited her home. She included our family in some of her paintings which we treasure. Laguna will never be the same for us without her smiling presence. Our love to her family especially Randy and Reed that we´ve had the great pleasure to meet over the years. Ruth was an incredible person always interested in hearing from others. I recall discussing a limited edition print and Randy saying she shouldn't be offering it at the price she was offering it. Ruth won much to my advantage. We can only imagine the sorrow given the extensive family and friends. We found ourselves as part of the latter. We will display her two prints with a happy heart filled with memories of long discussions.

My deepest condolences to Ruth´s family and friends- I first stepped into Ruth´s Laguna Beach gallery beck in the early 80´s when I was 22 and moved to Laguna Beach..she was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversations over the years as I admired her work ..she would tell me her inspirations for her many paintings..I´m 62 now ...living in Chicago...she has been in my mind the last couple of weeks ..I wasn´t sure why after all these years she was so strongly present in my mind I decided to google her and see if she still had the Laguna Beach gallery..so sad to learn of her passing she was a beautiful person and I will cherish my memories and time spent with her in her gallery..God bless you Ruth.

Such a beautiful and loving soul. We have had the blessing of knowing Ruth through her art for many years and many of her paintings hang in our home which is very close to her studio in Laguna Beach. Our favorite is "Birds on the Beach" One of my favorite memories happened one Sunday when I went to visit her at the studio. She was very flustered as her easel had just collapsed into several pieces. Since we live close-by, I ran home, collected some tools and was able to repair the easel. Saved the day, I guess and she was very thankful. Just to see that beautiful smile was reward enough. She leaves a big hole in our community and is sorely missed.

What a beautiful and loving soul. We live in Laguna Beach very close to her gallery. Over the years we have collected many of her original works of art; one of our favorites is Birds on the Beach. So, one Sunday I went to the studio to say hi to her. She was flustered trying to piece together her very worn easel that had suddenly collapsed. Living close by, I ran home and got some tools and was able to put the easel back together. Saved the day, I guess. Anyway she was very grateful.
She leaves a very big hole in the life of our community and will be (is) sorely missed.
