Ruth Wilkinson Obituary

WILKINSON, Ruth Marie
Ruth Marie Varney Wilkinson passed away peacefully Monday, August 14, 2017. She was born in Phoenix Arizona May 9, 1924 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Varney. Her parents were farmers so Ruth worked on the family farm with her sisters and brothers. During the depression, the family moved back to Missouri where her father was from. Ruth graduated from Neosho High School in 1942. She returned to Arizona after graduation and worked at Luke Air Force Base as a clerk. In 1949 she married the late William "Bill" Wilkinson. Both Ruth and Bill were active members of the First Southern Baptist Church of Glendale, Arizona, and served in the church nearly 70 years. Ruth is survived by her children Sandy Savage (Ken) Dallas, Texas Mike Wilkinson (Amy), Phoenix, Troy Wilkinson, Glendale, 3 granddaughters, and 4 great grand children. Services will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church 10250 N. 59th Ave. Glendale Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1:00. Viewing will be from noon to 1:00.
