RYAN CUMMINS Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 14 to Nov. 15, 2013.
CUMMINS
RYAN JAMES
Age 20, of Dormont, tragically, on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Loving son of James H. and Kathryn (Patsakis) Cummins; cherished brother of Ian Cummins; grandson of Jeanette Patsakis and the late Rev. Thomas and Madelyn Cummins of Pittsburgh, PA; nephew of Raymond (Sonja) Franz of Pittsburgh, PA, Thomas (Marilyn) Cummins of Richmond, CA, Marshall (Jane) Cummins of Mickleton, NJ; cousin of Andrew (Erin) Cummins of New York, NY, Daniel Cummins of New Orleans, LA, and Savannah Franz of Pittsburgh, PA; also survived by numerous loving extended family members and countless friends. Ryan graduated from Keystone Oaks High School in 2012, where he was active in the symphonic, jazz, and marching bands, and regularly volunteered at Asbury Heights. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he majored in Information Science. Ryan was a sweet, gentle person with a wonderful sense of humor. He was always patient, compassionate and encouraging to all around him and will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched. Ryan's favorite attire included jeans and a flannel shirt; therefore we encourage all attending the service to dress casually. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall St., 29th Floor, NY, NY 10005, 1-888-333-2377, afsp.donordrive.com. A service will be held in the Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Road, Green Tree, Saturday morning, November 16, 2013 at 10 o'clock. Ryan's family will greet friends immediately following the service in the church. LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL.

"But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away." Mark 16:4

No more stone weighing on this young man. He sits at the feet of the Lord where he prays for the peace of his mother and father and his entire family.

One day at a time. Peace to you. And much love. Hang in there.

James, Kathryn, Ian,
My heart goes out to you all at this terribly difficult time. My son grew up with Ryan as his friend, along with a circle of friends. "Cummins" (aka Ryan) was always referred to as the guy who cared about people.
May you be surrounded by love, cherish the memory of Ryan's earthly presence, and find peace, one day at a time.

With a very heavy heart, I extend my deepest sympathy to the Cummins family. May you find peace and comfort in the warm memories that you created together. I will always remember Ryan, especially from the early years when he was in my kindergarten class. What a special smile he had...contagious! What an inquisitive mind and a positive spirit with kindness towards all! May God's grace and the love and support of family and friends help you through this difficult time. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

My heart is so heavy as I think about your loss - the world's loss. I was Ryan's teacher in middle school. He was such a joy to know. Whether in the hallway, in class, or outside of school at an event, Ryan always brightened my day with his smile and that constant twinkle in his eye. I'm sure heaven is a little more joyous having Ryan as one of God's special angels. Sending my condolences to family and friends through this tragic loss. God bless. Sending prayers for all of you.

I remember when our boys were young. I was so thankful for Ian and Ryan. My son Anthony did not have a brother yet he embraced both Ian and Ryan as his own. I will never forget Ryan's smile as he never allowed me to see him frown. My favorite memory was when he and Hillary danced at my wedding! He had a way of making a already perfect day even that much better! I love you from earth to heaven Ryan! You will live in the hearts of all those whom you have touched!
