it´s been almost 5 months since we lost and not a single goes by where I don´t think of you. I miss you, Aleister misses you. I hope one day I can tell you how proud I am of you.

December 27th is My Son Ryan´s Birthday. Ryan was a lover of cats and dogs. To celebrate his time with us, I have initiated a fundraiser in Ryan´s name. The way you invest your love, is the way you invest your life. The North Texas Cat Rescue was an interest of Ryan and will be the beneficiary.

The word that best describes Ryan is "sweet." As a young child, he had a quick smile, a talent for making people laugh, and an unwavering love for his family. His laugher had the power to brighten any room. Ryan spent part of the summer of 2017 in Buffalo with his Aunt Arlene (my mother) and our Uncle Leon. During his stay, he effortlessly integrated into our lives. It didn´t matter that my sister, our friends, and I were 6-8 years older than him; he was so open to spending time with us and was such a fun addition to any gathering. Ryan struck a balance between being reserved and up for anything, and his kindness extended to those he just met. His impeccable manners and his habit of considering others before himself were truly remarkable.
I remember being impressed at the time by his adventurous and brave spirit, spending the summer halfway across the country, away from his mom, sisters, and friends, at such a pivotal age. He added a touch of magic to that summer, making it extra special for all of us. I am deeply grateful I had the opportunity to spend that time with him, getting to know what an incredible young man he turned out to be. Ryan will be deeply missed by our family and it breaks my heart to know that the world has lost a bit of its magic without him in it.

I have known Ryan since shortly after he was born. He was a smart, funny and sweet little boy. My favorite memory was when he came to see our new collie puppy who we told him had been trained as a show dog. Ryan must have been about 5 years old and he took her leash and walked her around the front yard like it was a dog show ring. They were both adorable!

Ryan and Ioved watching movies together, horror movies, comedies, you name it...we watched it. I´ll always remember when we went to see the cult classic "The Room" and even got to meet the director. It was the most fun I think I´ve ever had.
