Ryan Reeves Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 13, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ryan Eugene Reeves, 43 who passed away on August 3rd, 2025, in Coogee, New South Wales, Australia. Ryan was born on August 16th, 1981, in Edmonds, Washington, United States.

Ryan grew up in Monroe Washington, he was a graduate of Monroe High School, Monroe, Washington 1999, and Everett Community College, Everett Washington, 2000.

When Ryan moved to the Seattle area in 2005 his life adventures expanded with the addition of many new deep friendships. This included meeting the love of his life, Brooke, who then later became his wife, May 2009. Their marriage began a life of international travel, eventually leading to a residence in Australia in 2020.

Ryan is lovingly remembered by his wife Brooke Knapp Reeves. Together, Ryan and Brooke shared a deep bond and an adventurous spirit that carried them across the globe. Their travels were more than just destinations - they were shared experiences that reflected their joy in discovering the world together.

Ryan was the cherished son of Delana Reeves and Larry Reeves. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Mari Knapp. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Dick Knapp. His Grandparents Gib (Eugene) Gibson, and Kay Gibson, also held a meaningful place in his heart and memory. His beloved Puppy Peyton was fortunate to be able to join Ryan and Brooke in Australia for puppy escapades. In addition, he leaves behind a sister-in-law Dayna (Bill) Neal, a brother-in-law Seth (Dana) Knapp, and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many beloved friends he's been fortunate to have in his life during this journey. This includes his very dear friend Dean Cassinelli who was like a brother to Ryan, they shared many memorable adventures together over the past 38 years.

Though his time with us was far too brief, Ryan's presence left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His memory will continue to be honored by family and friends whose lives he touched along the way.

Though Ryan was not one to speak of it, Ryan was a fighter. He never complained, he is a Cystic Fibrosis Survivor, a Double Lung Transplant Survivor, and Kidney Transplant Survivor, of many years! Brooke has been with him on much of this journey and together they built a fabulous life, a life he was never able to live fully before. Together they had the ability to travel and explore and made numerous friends along the way.

Please join us in Celebrating Ryan and his Amazing Life by joining us for A celebration of Life being held on August 30th, 2025, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Shine Flower Farm, 29810 Fern Bluff Road, Monroe, Washington.

What a wonderful life he was able to have. Ryan was clearly a walking talking miracle and so blessed in many ways. Although I never met him, hearing stories from his mom has given me a glimpse into his warrior qualities. I have wished that he and my Son Shane (just a few months apart in age) could have met here on earth. Perhaps they are now able to meet in the great beyond and trade stories about their mom's. RIP Ryan. Sending out my heart felt condolences to the loved ones he left behind.

I am a friend of the Knapp family and I was so sorry to about Ryan.
I remember one Christmas, a special gift I was looking for was only found in Seattle. I called Ryan and asked if he could go purchase it for me. He didn´t hesitate. He said sure, that he and Peyton needed to go for a walk and he saved my Christmas. That was so kind of him.
Although I didn´t see Ryan very frequently, I did love his sly smile.

Larry and Delanie this news is just so very sad and I am beyond sorry for you.
It sounds like he led an amazing life full of adventures and also many medical experiences. Maybe he and Brandon have already reconnected. My thoughts and prayers are with you

Though I was never fortunate to meet Ryan in person, I feel I got to know Ryan thru his mom, my dear friend, Delana. May Love surround the family and memories bring you comfort. And your heart find peace. Ryan is not far he lives on thru your heart
