Sam Allender Obituary
PALM BAY, FLA. -- Sam E. Allender, II, of Palm Bay, passed away on December 26, 2013. He was a father, husband, brother, grandpa, and friend to all.
Sam was born in Akron, Ohio on January 11, 1938 and graduated from South High School. He was employed in the automotive business in Ohio and Florida until he retired in 2004. He spent nine years of his retired life with Publix Supermarkets touching the lives of many customers with a smile and a hug, or a hi-five and a sticker for the little ones.
He is survived by his daughter, Jill (Cesar); his sons, Jeff (Makell) and Scott (Michelle); his brother, Stan (Nada); and his grandchildren, Alicia, Jessica, Rachel, Ciara, DeAnn, Scotty, Sophia and Keith; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lenora Allender; his wife, Maryann; and his son, Vincent.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay,321- 724-2224. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made in Sam's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.WoundedWarriorProject.org or to Hospice of Health First at www.Health-First.org.

To the Allender Family
We just heard the news about Sam. When I saw all the family at Checkmarc without Sam, I knew something wasn't right. We met Sam years ago while shopping at the Bayside Publix. He was the bright spot in our day. He had such a sweet spirit. We would talk about the Gaither's with him. He will be missed. Our prayers are with the family.

Dear Allender Family…….It was so lucky to reconnect with Sam the past year and a half. I got to hear him tell about his wonderful wife and family. He truly had a beautiful life and I enjoyed hearing all of his stories. I will miss his phone calls talking about his favorite sports teams and the latest happenings with his children and grandchildren.

Dear Allender Family... We knew Sam through his work at Publix. His warm smile and genuine kindness were always a bright spot on the days we saw him. He loved to talk about all of you and it was obvious that he loved you very much. We will miss him dearly. He was a lovely man. God bless your family.

I first met Sam after I moved to Palm Bay in 2004. He soon became the bright spot of a visit to Publix. I do miss him and will think of him every single time I walk through the door's at Bayside Publix.

We only knew Sam from our local Publix, but we adored him. He was always so cheerful. Sam always recognized us when we came in and made it a point to comment on how the kids have grown, telling my daughter what a sweet young lady she was growing up to be. We will sure miss you and your great smile, Sam!

Sam was the type of man every man should strive to be. He had a heart ot Gold. trying to remember one thing about Sam is very hard. He was a blessing to everyone.
