Sami Rai Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 25, 2020.
Sami Rai was born on April 7, 1967, in the Holy Land, Jerusalem, Jordan. Sami lived on this earth for 53 years and died on April 25, 2020, of both COVID-19 and other ailments. Sami also had Glioblastoma in 2005 a type of brain cancer, for which over the years weakened his body. His desire to live for his two beautiful daughters enabled him to live all those years, with the great support from his family. Sami finally went home to Jesus. Sami is preceded by his late father Ibrahim Rai in 1983. Sami is survived by his two daughters Megin and Abigail of Louisiana, his mother Yvonne (DE), his sisters Vivian (IL), Gloria (PA), Susan (DE), and his brother Mike (PA). He is also survived by five nephews and nieces, three grandnephews, three grandnieces, many cousins, and their families, as well as many friends. In college, Sami chose to study theology and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from both Theology Kent College and Eastern College in Dover Delaware. The best days of his life was when his two daughters were born. He was a proud and a dotting dad and talked about his kids all the time. Other events he enjoyed were as a youth Minister, where he tremendously enjoyed working and ministering to many others. One person stated, "Sami had changed my life around on many levels with hope for the future". Sami had a wonderful sense of humor, that was his gift. Sami joked, told funny stories, and made people laugh. He was a blessing, an example of patience, a person whom you can sit with and enjoy his company. He will be missed dearly and will be forever in our hearts.
