Samuel Mitchell, Jr, 58, passed on Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Mobile, AL. He was a native of Theodore, AL. born to Alean and William Green, Sr. Samuel (Sam) was a loving and devoted husband, who adored his children, and a God-fearing man. He enjoyed life and was known for his historic smile, kind words and huge heart. Sam was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1979 to 1983. . After his honorable discharge, he spent the majority of his career as a laborer and helping others. Sam was a hard worker. He was preceded in death by his parents: Emma and Samuel Mitchell, Sr., Alean and Wiliam Green, Sr.; siblings: Ann Green, Clarence Green, Joseph Payne, Jonah Hosea, and Carrie Sullivan. He is survived by a loving and devoted wife, Tanickyia Mitchell; mother-in-law (mama): Gernell Johnson; three daughtes: Samierya Mitchell, Christian Mitchell, and Paris Mitchell; two grandchildren: Aunyla Womack and Shylyn Mitchell, all of Mobile, AL; three brothers: William (Linda) Green of Theodore, AL, Robert (Kerri) Green of Grand Bay, AL, Rayford Green of Theodore, AL; three sisters: Bertha Green, Doris Green, Mary (Luke) Brown of Fort Worth, TX; two devoted friends: Greg Brown and Reginald Freed; a host of other relatives and close friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at New Shiloh Baptist Church, 2756 Old Shell Road, Mobile, AL.
