Sandra Bresson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 13, 2024.
Sandra Dianne (Glau) Bresson went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2024 at the age of 82 in Gilbert, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan. Sandra leaves behind children Derek Bresson and Ainslee (Ruben) Leyvas and 2 grandchildren. "Sandy" was born in Cleveland, OH in 1941 to Rudy and Bertha Glau and had 3 siblings: sister, the late Barbara Vezdos and brothers Richard (Sherry) Glau and Randolph (Andrea) Glau. Sandy graduated from Parma High School in '59 and worked for a local bank for a few years before taking a job overseas. Her childhood memories included growing up with her sister and many cousins in Cleveland and Parma, snagging fruit from the neighborhood fruit trees, "trick or treating" with her sister, and road trips to CO where her Dad was born. She loved to tell stories of her days in Istanbul, Turkey where she met her future husband, Alan Bresson. They married in 1965 in Turkey and moved to the UK and had a son, Derek. From there they moved back to the states and had a daughter, Ainslee, in Lorain, OH. Summer of '76 the family packed their bags and moved to Arizona where they remained. Sandy worked for the airline industry and eventually retired from Mesa Public Schools and began to enjoy her treasured grandkids, Jonah and Tatum.

Sandy loved to travel whenever circumstances would allow, meeting her sister for spring training games in both FL and AZ and visiting her brother Rick and his wife Sherry while in FL. She treasured her trips to CA, CO, OH, and Europe (with her brother Randy and sister-in-law Andrea). Sandy loved art and to paint, even in her later years she would learn what she could from YouTube videos and art books. In her younger days during the '70s and '80s, Sandy and her friend Mary were impassioned shoppers who would scour the unique shops in Tempe and Scottsdale. She was a meticulous collector of travel and D-Backs memorabilia.

The greatest joy of her retired life was watching her grandkids grow into young adults. And above all, Sandy handled her last few years of health challenges with her faith in Christ and wanted more than anything that her friends and family focus on the new life she would have, free from pain and full of happiness and joy from being in her true home in Heaven. "Lord, thank You that in Your majesty and power, You are also a God of grace and mercy"....is a quote Sandy conveyed in one of her last emails to friends and family. She is (and will always be) missed greatly by her family. A private celebration of life will be held. The family asks if anyone is so inclined, consider donations in Sandy's name to Sunshine Acres Children's Home. www.sunshineacres.org
