Sandi was a joy to know and work alongside of! She was the light to so many on their roughest day coming into the AED. She was truly an amazing person! Sending love and prayers to all of her family and friends!

I met Sandy when she was teaching one of the " welcome to the ER " orientation classes. She was teaching us things to keep an eye on and mistakes that could happen at the front desk. She had us laughing. She was the most compassionate person I know that was the face of Wake Med. I can remember getting report from her multiple times getting me laughing before my shift would really start. She knew everyone in that lobby and why they were there. The faces Sandy could make were also entertaining. She will be dearly missed. I know she is in heaven greeting people as they get there with a big smile on her face and a hug.

Sandi was an amazing lady. She was always a favorite for Mufasa and I when we did pet therapy at WakeMed. And she always had a special treat for the pup. :). I will miss her hugs, smile, laugh and friendship. Rest easy my dear

It was an honor and pleasure to work with Sandi. I always looked forward to my hugs in the morning to start my shift. Sandi always kept a smile on her face. I will forever remember the joy she brought to the emergency department.

Sandi is one of the dearest friends I have had in my life. I have so many happy memories of working with her. She always gave more of herself one will never be able to replace her or her sayings "For the love of Pearl" May she rest in peace.

I was a young Raleigh PD officer when I met Sandy. I was at the hospital A LOT bc it was my beat. Her beautiful smiling face was a lot of times the first thing I saw when I walked in the front door. I had an instant connection with her and we became fast friends. We went thru some hard times together but we also went thru many amazing times. The laughs we shared will be cherished by me forever. We cooked out on her back porch, played with bubble guns like a couple of kids, went to sylvan heights bird sanctuary, went and got tattoos together and so many more special memories. She was an angel on this earth and gone way too soon.

First time I met Sandra was when she was showing me how to work the front desk at WakeMed. Her beautiful warm smile always made the patients feel welcome. If she was Hawaiian, she exemplify Aloha. She understood the edict from God to live one another. Justin, I know with your Mom being a nurse there were many times that she missed holidays and events with you. Thank you for sharing her with us and the patients.
She always had a smile and a story. Thank you for taking great care of her as she was finishing living here. I can imagine her looking around heaven and ermagawd it's beautiful!
I won't be able to come to the service because I'm thousands of miles away. But that day I will raise a glass to Sandra and try to remember that a welcoming smile to my fellow humans is an expression of love.
