Sandra Crouch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 20, 2012.
Sandra Kay Stiles Crouch peacefully joined her Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 30, 1940 in Austin, Texas to James and Mildred Stiles, she married William Benjamin Crouch, Jr. on November 22, 1959. After a long and courageous battle against multiple health issues, she is survived by her devoted husband, their three beautiful daughters and sons-in-law, and her six grandchildren: Julia Anne Garcia, husband Bobby and daughter Alicia Nichole; Janie Lyn Cosson, husband Kelly, and children Benjamin Gale and Spencer Pearce; and Janet Lee McNulty, husband Mark and children William Paul, Patrick Ryan, and Mary Frances.

She considered her situation and decided that due to the pain she suffered from her more recent maladies, and more importantly because she could no longer participate in those activities that she previously enjoyed, she was ready to seek the comfort of her Lord Jesus Christ. As in all other family matters, her wishes became those of the family before she allowed the conversation to conclude.

Sandra was always active, playing alto saxophone in the U.T. New Horizons band and dancing as a member of the granny dancers until health took these loves away from her. She was a wonderful wife and mother, who loved her husband and children with all of her heart. She was the biggest fan of her six grandchildren and never missed a moment to sing their praises to anyone who would listen. A loyal and compassionate friend to all, she was always willing to offer support in a time of need. She filled every room she entered with her smile and laughter. Her bright presence will be missed by many, and she touched the world in a way that will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Baldwin of Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mrs. Crouch to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org or to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.

I am so sorry for your loss. Even after all these years, I can hear Sandra's voice in my head. Those years on Bluebonnet Lane were so special. With heartfelt condolences, Robin

Theda: The memories Sandra and I had on Bluebonnet Lane are so very dear to me. Our children played, laughed and fought together. I loved her with all my heart and will so miss her. Bob: Going further in our memories, when our daughter Robin was playing with the twins there was no such thing as "down time". By the time anyone could say :"What will they do next?", they had already done it. Her three girls all reflected their mother's love, which was from the heart, deeply, and freely shared with all with whom she came in contact. (And that is not to neglect the unassuming love and devoted care of their father, both to Sandra and the girls.) Lastly, we will never forget her adopting us and including a young family in so many of her own families gatherings and activities. Sandra was a person who knew she was blessed with the fruit of the Spirit, and she knew where and how to share them with those in need, in Jesus' Holy Name. (Why else would I be sitting here adding my tears of heart-felt loss with those of her loving family?)

Bill,Julie,Janet and Jane,
I'll always treasure knowing Sandra and being a small part of all your lives over the years while I was your pharmacist at Lamar Plaza. Sandra was always a highlite of the day when she came to the store. Please accept my condolences and know that you all and she will be in my prayers. She was a dear friend and a wife and mother who enjoyed her family very much. My jokes use to make her laugh and that always made me feel good. Bill, you were so lucky to have her with you for so many years and I know she loved you and the girls so very much. God's blessings in remembering her.

So sad to learn of Sandra's passing. I met Sandra in 1989 when we quit smoking together, along with a great group of people. As others have noted, she always had a smile and a positive attitude. She spoke lovingly of her husband and daughters. She will be missed. God Bless your family in this difficult time.

My family and I were so blessed to have Sandra be a part of our lives. I will forever miss having her come in to have her hair done and having the opportunity to listen to her wonderful stories, and seeing her drive up in her orange Camaro. She was always so generous (sometimes too generous) with my children every time she sent them to pick up her lunch or iced tea! Our prayers go out to Mr. Bill and all of her family. We will truly miss seeing her joyous smile each and every summer!

Dear Mr. Crouch, Julie, Jane, Janet and family,
I am truly sorry for your loss. Your mother was an amazing woman who always had a smile to offer, a warm hug, and a contagious laugh! She (and your father) have always made me feel welcome and part of your family when I would visit. She loved life, loved her family, loved her grand kids, and loved God. Cherish the many memories and may God hold you all in his arms during this difficult time. You all are in my thoughts and prayers!! I Love You and God Bless.

A beautiful classy lady and dear friend I am so lucky to have known all these years! We would still laugh at little incidents that occured on our trips together...Oh how I will miss that...but the memories will be cherished forever. I especially loved how Sandra was so proud of her daughters..she would always update me on the family when we got together each year and it was a joy to be part of her life!

When I think of Grandma and Papa's house there on Bluebonnet, Sandra and family always comes to mind. The two memories are woven together like a warm blanket. Sandra was always a good friend who had a continuous smile on her face which infected all around her. Although she will be sorely missed, her energy will live on in everyone she ever encountered.

We love you Sandra! Randy & Tina Eldridge
