Sandra Pettingill Obituary
Sandra Livaudais Pettingill passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 of complications from pancreatic cancer at the age of 67. Daughter of the late Rita Felterman Livaudais and Clarence J. Livaudais; Sandra is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Norman A. Pettingill; five children, Melissa P. Carbajal, Monique P. O'Neill, Michelle, Melanie and Michael Pettingill; sons-in-law, Scott Carbajal and Rick O'Neill; five grandchildren, Haley Pettingill, Matthew O'Neill, Mason, Jacob and Sarah Carbajal; three sisters, Gloria Livaudais, Linda L. Frolich and Brenda Livaudais. Also survived by numerous relatives and friends. She was a native of New Orleans and resided in Covington for the past five years.
Relatives, friends and members of the Krewe of Thoth are invited to attend the visitation and funeral service at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude with a service in the chapel at 12:45 P.M. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery. Flowers welcome. Donations to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org). appreciated. Guest book may be signed online at www.schoencanalstreet.com.

My condolences go out to the entire Pettingill family. I do understand your pain in this difficult time but please keep the faith that your mom & dad work so hard to instill in all of you. God needed another angel in heaven to watch over each of you and the grandkids. Mrs. Sandra was a beautiful person. I remember her and my mom always visiting during ROOL events. Now they can visit and reminisce about our elementary days over coffee. My thoughts and prayers are with you! Sorry that I was not able to attend the services.

I am so sorry to hear about my cousin Sandra. I know she will be missed for she was a special person who came from a very special and dear family to me. I shall always cherish my fond memories of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at Aunt Rita's home when I was a child. As we grew older, we all went our separate ways and didn't keep in touch. I probably pass Sandra's children on the streets on the Northshore and do not even know we're related. How time passes. Sandra is in a better place now and her suffering has ended. May God Bless all of you and give you strength to get through this great loss. Always remember that Sandra will be watching over all of you so look up, smile and blow her a kiss to the heavens.
