Sandra Stetler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 24 to Sep. 25, 2006.
WINFIELD — Sandra L. Stetler, 60, of 2415 Hollow Road, Winfield, beloved wife and mother, unexpectedly went to her eternal home at 5:30 a.m. Friday Sept. 22, 2006 while vacationing at the family cabin in Tamworth, Ontario. She had been in ill health for the passed decade and will be sadly missed.

Sandy was formerly employed by Snyder County Bank of Selinsgrove as executive secretary; Lewisburg United Methodist Homes and the Big T Restaurant on Island Park; also a secretary for stock brokers Eugene Frey and Leonard Fellon and also secretary for Joe Peyser of Keystone Forge of Northumberland. While in high school, Sandy was a waitress at the Curve Inn Restaurant in Northumberland.

Mrs. Stetler was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland, where she assisted with an adult Sunday School class and volunteered in the nursery.

Sandy was the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend anyone could have. She was the rock of her family, always knowing what to say and how to say words to make the people around her feel special.

Her greatest passion was spending summers relaxing and fishing at her family's Canadian lakefront cabin with her loving husband of 39 years, Elwood "Woody" Stetler; cheering her grandsons at various events; cuddling her new baby grandson; hosting her family for holiday dinners and playing pinochle with good friends.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Charles "Ed" and Temisa Stetler of Northumberland and James "Clint" and Kristin Stetler of Mifflinburg; one loving daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Troy Teats of Winfield; five adoring grandsons, Jeremy, Jonathan, Noah, Gabriel and Tucker; three sisters, Joanne Bolig of Northumberland, Frances "Frankie" and Tom Jones of Sunbury and Marion "Mickie" Waters of Missouri; one brother, Charles "Buddy" and Judith Ditton of Northumberland; one sister-in-law, Kay Stetler Coup and Robert Coup of West Chester and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sixth and King streets, Northumberland.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Sandy's memory to Trinity United Methodist Church, 6th and King streets, Northumberland, PA 17857, or to Township of Stone Mills Fire Department, 4504 County RD4, Centerville, ON.KOK_1NO

I just received notice of Sandy's passing after arriving in Arizona this week. I know what a difficult time it is to suffer the loss of a spouse and a parent and wish you all well on your journey through this time of grief.

Woody,

You might not remember us, Carol Hudock and Bob Yeager. We both spent much time with Sandy and your brother Eddie. Sandy was sure a good woman and lots of fun. She sure was someone I looke up too ... she was one of the upper classmen I admired. I sure am sad to know she has died. If you get a chance to send us a line, we live in Georgia now. Email us at [email protected] . May the Lord comfort you now as you go on here on earth without you dearest wife and friend.

I am absolutely heart-broken to hear this news. I worked beside Sandy at SCTC and she was such a nice, genuine person with a big heart. We had lots of laughs even while working. I know she loved her husband and family greatly. May God keep her and her family in his care. My prayers are with you all.
