Sara Jones Obituary
Sara was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Edna Mixon Rodgers and Joe Rodgers. She retired from Art Furniture. Sara was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and active in the choir. She was a member of the Sara Harrell Sunday school class. Sara was a past member and very active in the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #3 and Women of the Moose.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Carlton Wellborn Jones Sr.; children, Carlton Wellborn Jones, Jr. of Macon and Ellen Jones Scott (Tom) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Christopher Scott and Lauren Scott. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Pruitt Healthcare for their compassion and comfort to Sara.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Being in your home as a child was a special part of my growing up years!
Mr. Jones, I am so glad you had 66 years with Mrs. Jones. That is quite a legacy! I know you will miss her deeply and my heart and prayers are with you.
Carlton and Ellen, I know how hard it is to lose a parent - having lost both of mine. I will be praying for you as you grieve her passing.

Mother and I were not able to attend the service this morning as we had hoped to do, but you all are close in our thoughts and prayers. Sara and your family have a special place in our precious memories from our lives in the neighborhood and beyond. Your wife and mother, such a gracious lady. May the Lord comfort you as only He can.

Mr. Jones, I was sad to hear the news about the passing of your dear wife of 66 years. She was a kind and gracious lady. Thank you (and Sara) for being such good friends to my parents and such good examples for me growing up at Highland Hills.
