Sara Lee Pawlow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
Sara Lee Pawlow (née Robertson), 93, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, in Middletown, Connecticut.

Born on January 26, 1932, in Inkerman, Pennsylvania, she settled in Middletown where she became a respected presence in her community.

Sara was a pioneering member of the city's first McDonald's restaurant where she worked as a swing manager until her retirement. Her dedication and leadership earned admiration from colleagues and customers alike.

Since the 1960s, Sara was an active member of the Third Congregational Church of Middletown. Her steadfast faith, involvement and willingness to volunteer made her a familiar and cherished figure within the congregation.

Sara found joy in reading, gardening, traveling, and attending plays and lectures. These interests were often shared with her best friend Mary, with whom she explored new experiences well into later years.

Known for her independence, Sara remained very active into her late 80s-pumping gas and shoveling snow with determination. Her strength and tireless work ethic left a lasting impression on those who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda Bevington, son Jeffrey Pawlow, their spouses Tom and Lori, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers: Edward and Harold, a sister Mae, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Laura Chester and Jennifer Pawlow.

A future celebration of life will be held at the Third Congregational Church of Middletown, Connecticut. Donations in her memory can be made to: thirdchurchmiddletown.org

Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched through kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion. As she always said when ending a phone call: "Bye for now."

My earliest and favorite memories are with Gram. I will always remember and appreciate spending holidays and weekend trips at her home. Her home was always as loving and inviting as her hugs, and I will miss both dearly. I will make sure to share stories and memories of her to my girls so she will always be remembered. I love you Gram. "Bye for now."

I first met Mrs Pawlow, Sara, as a teenager when I began a lifelong friendship with her daughter Linda. Sara was such a kind and remarkable woman. I admired how she never stopped learning and growing throughout her life. Her strength, positivity and independence were inspiring, and it was always a joy to spend time around her. God bless her and her family. May she rest in peace.
