CLAGETT, Sarah Eloisa Carver (PAT)
Mrs. Clagett died Thursday June 18, 2015. She was born in Houston, Texas, October 17, 1926, the only child of Edward Dewey and Lula King Carver. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Jason Carver Clagett, and her daughter-in-law Jo Ann Sobeck Clagett.
Mrs. Clagett graduated from Taylor High School in Taylor, Texas. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton, Texas, and The University of Texas at Austin. Mrs. Clagett was employed at The University of Texas at Austin for 29 years. She retired in 1991. She was an active member of the Bannockburn Baptist Church, Austin, Texas.
Mrs. Clagett researched her mother's King family history and published the results of her research in Kings Without Crowns. This book was well received by all of her King cousins and has been used as resource material by other genealogists. Copies of the book are in the Texas State Archives and Georgia Archives in Atlanta.
Mrs. Clagett is survived by her son, Keith Edward Clagett, her granddaughter Kristy Lynn Clagett, and her great granddaughters Ashley Victoria and Scarlett Sky Clagett, and great grandson Sam Carver Weinberg. She is also survived by two extended families--friends who were members with her in Parents Without Partners, Inc. and friends in the Joy Sunday School Class, Bannockburn Baptist Church and Englewood Estates Retirement Residence.
Dr. Ken Baldwin will officiate at a graveside service at 11a.m. Thursday June 25, at the Cook Walden/Forest Oaks Cemetery on William Cannon and 290.
