Sarah Alfreda Forbes

FORBES-Sarah Alfreda passed away on January 18, 2005 at the Nokomis Health Centre in Nokomis, SK. Sarah was predeceased by her sister, Cora Kaufhold. She is survived by her husband, John "Jack " Forbes; son, Don (Donna), granddaughter, Annette (Rob); great-grandson, Justin; granddaughter, Vannessa; grandson Micheal; son, Doug; daughter-in-law, Corrine, granddaughter, Terri (Rob); great-granddaughter, Kristen; granddaughter, Susan; brother, Doug (Faye) Woodworth; brother-in-law, Frank Kaufhold; and many nieces and nephews. Sarah was born to Bowman and Charlotte Woodworth in 1924 at Clavet, SK where the family farmed and bought grain. They remained at Clavet until 1936 when they moved to Naicam, SK where Sarah completed her grade 12 education. In 1944, after completing the College of Business, she moved to Semans. She took a position with the Bank of Montreal in Semans and while employed there she met John Forbes. After a few years of courtship, John and Sarah were married on October 9, 1948. Sarah and John raised two chosen sons and baptized them Donald and Douglas. John and Sarah became residents of the Village of Semans in 1982. Sarah was very active in local organizations and became Secretary/ Treasurer of the following organizations: I.O.D.E, United Church Evening Circle, Semans United Church Sunday School and the local Cubs and Scouts. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sarah's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan, 301, 2550-12th Ave. Regina, SK S4P 3X1. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place at Semans Pentecostal Assembly, Semans, SK, on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Rodger Halvorsen officiating.
