GORDY SARAH A. (nee Hammond), of Braddock NJ, on April 3, 2002, age 61 years, born Jan. 17, 1941 in West Chester PA to the late Charles N. Hammond Sr. and Alice M. Hammond. Mrs. Gordy was an Educator, School Social Worker, Civic Leader, Association Activist and Philanthropist; mother of the late Michele D. Gordy. She is survived by 3 children, Michael A., David C. and Martha A. Gordy; 3 grandchildren, Darryl A., Darren C. and Michaela D. Gordy; one daughter-in-law, Rosalyn C. Gordy; her mother, Alice M. Hammond; survived by 3 siblings, Alice H. Hammond, Charles N. Hammond Jr. and Dorothy M. Hammond and predeceased by Mary A. Mosley and Elsie B. Wylie. She is survived also by a host of other relatives and many friends. All are invited to a Public Viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at The Sicklerville United Methodist Church, Williamstown-New Brooklyn and Church Rds, Sicklerville NJ. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11 A.M. at The CCU Baptist Church, Sicklerville Rd, Sicklerville NJ; where friends may call after 9 A.M. Interment, Berlin Cemetery, Berlin NJ. In lieu of flowers the family requests Contributions in Sarah's memory to the charity of your choice or The Michele D. Gordy Scholarship Fund, c/o PO Box 208, Cedar Brook NJ 08018, Attn: Michael A. Gordy. Arr. by CARL MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Camden NJ and Lawnside NJ.
