Sarah Nicklow Obituary

Sarah Laverne Jolliffe Nicklow

Sarah Laverne Jolliffe Nicklow, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 17, 2010. She passed away peacefully with family members by her side at her home in Orange County.

Sarah was born February 19, 1934, in Morgantown, West Virginia. She was a self proclaimed "West Virginia Hillbilly" and proud to share this with anyone who knew her.

Sarah retired from Technicolor where she worked in production for many years. She was also a unfranchise owner with Market America promoting health and nutritional products, a business which she received the rising star award, which is awarded to successful business owners within the State of Virginia.

She had a true passion for helping others and spreading the word about what helped her be successful in her battles with Cancer. Sarah who battled cancer twice and won, did so without fear. She was inspiration to all who knew her determination and fearless attitude.

Sarah was a member of the Women of the Moose where she served in the past as a Senior Regent. She also loved bowling and bowled with a duck pin league in Culpeper for many years.

Sarah was a NASCAR fan and loved Richard Petty. She owned a Plymouth Super Bird in the 70's which she purchased because it was like Richard Petty's car. Now this car is part of Richard Petty's personal collection in North Carolina.

Something which delighted Sarah, to know her car found a home with her racing hero.

Sarah will be joining her loving husband of 51 years, James "Jim" Wallace Nicklow, who passed away in 2001.

Her parents James David Jolliffe and Margaret Eleanor Clingan Jolliffe of Morgantown, West Virginia, along with two sisters, Leila J. Gauss of New Port Richey, Florida and Lawana J. Sarah has 14 great-grandchildren, Corte and Marle Garland, Jarrod and Christian Nicklow, Kent, Colin and Cavin Grantz, along with Sister and Sarah's namesake to arrive in April, Sarah Ruby Grantz, Elaina Daly, Adrian Nicklow, Dakota and Dillon Sprouse, Michael Johnson and Pacey Christianson.

Sarah had a big family but many more called her "Mom". She had an open door and kitchen to whoever came by and was loved and will be missed by many of her adopted children.

Special thanks to the many Angels who helped with Sarah's care. Winoka Nicklow, you are our special Angel without your love and care of Sarah, the family would have been lost. We are forever blessed with you in our family. Dakota Woolfolk, you brought joy and patient loving care to your Grandmother who loved you and treasured her last days being in your care.
