Scarlett Maria Fiveash Taylor, age 62, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital. She is the devoted wife of 35 years of Thomas Daniel Taylor. Scarlett was born in Memphis, TN on February 24, 1960, daughter of Anita Gower and the late Hubert Fiveash, and has lived in Shelton for the past 23 years. Scarlett loved music. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music and the Performing Arts from Cameron University in Lawton, OK. She became Choir Director of the First Presbyterian Church in Lawton and performed many theatrical shows at the Playhouse At the Park. A Military family, Scarlett deeply involved herself in the church wherever they were stationed and served as music director as well as children's director. She and her husband established the Church at the Aliamanu Military Reservation on Ohau, Hawaii and she was responsible for all the Christmas and Easter musicals. She is the beloved mother of Jackson Gower Taylor and Richard Hawley Taylor. She also is survived by her brother, Troy Fiveash, her stepfather Robert Foster, brother-in-law Leigh Taylor of Shreveport, LA, and sister-in-law Susan Taylor Pittman and her husband William Pittman III of Roswell, GA. Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, December 8th from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. Her funeral service will begin in the Parlor at 7:00 PM with Rev. Lucille Fritz of the Huntington Congregational Church officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ).
