Scott Wade Ferrara

Scott Wade Ferrara went to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 16, 2017. He passed away peacefully at his home at the young age of 46. He was the loving son of Kathleen Williams Ferrara Berzas and the late Paul Ferrara, Sr., and was also step-son to the late Ronald Gene Berzas. Brother of Paul Ferrara, Jr. and Mark Edward Alphonse Ferrara. Step-brother of Cindy B. Foremaster (Scott), Tricia B. Weber (David), and Jenny B. Duco (Bruce). Nephew of Alphonse A. Ferrara, Sr. (Stella), Rodney O. Williams, Sr., John W. Williams, Sr. (Joanne), Sharon W. Clay, and the late Edward R. Williams, Jr. (Lorraine), Clinton E. Williams (Ernestine), Marie D. Williams, and Richard L. Clay, Sr. Grandson of the late Alphonse Ferrara and Patricia Tramuta Ferrara on his paternal side, and Edward R. Williams, Sr. and Beulah Bosworth Williams on his maternal side. He is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Scott was born November 10, 1970 in Metairie, Louisiana. He graduated from East Jefferson High School and went on to receive a welder’s certification from Jefferson Vocational College. As a welder, he worked at Avondale Shipyard. He then went to California and worked for Shell Oil Refinery as a safety monitor. He returned home to work at Wholesale Battery Company, and recently worked with both Risk Tree Service and Quality Tree Service. Two of his greatest passions were his love of music and playing his drums.

Scott loved his family and cherished the friends he made throughout his lifetime. He lived life his way, touched so many people on his journey, and always had an open heart ready to help a friend in need. Much of Scott’s spare time was spent caring for others’ pets, as he was an avid dog lover. His compassionate nature and captivating smile will never be forgotten. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Family members and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Services on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Our Lady of Divine Providence Church, 8617 West Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 AM with Mass at 12 Noon. Interment will be private at a later date.
