Scott Longueil Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 31 to Aug. 2, 2023.
Holden - Scott Longueil was a man who went by the nickname Boomer. Six foot four he was, with arms like tree trunks. On July 27th, 2023, at the age of 47, he peacefully passed away at his home in Holden, MA.

He was the solid rock for his wife, Meagan, and their girls, Emma and Sofia. They were his source of energy, life, and joy, and a blessing for him as he was for them. He was the pride of his parents, John and Beverly Longueil, and cherished sibling to his sister, Kim, and her family. He was the son we all hope for and the brother we all wished we had.

Boomer was the rare man who listened more than he spoke. Everyone who knew him went to him for advice, and he would share his experience and his ideas openly but faithfully keep our secrets. If we wanted to know the best way to do something, we just had to ask Boomer how he did it and why. He was brilliant, calm and rational.

In addition to professional success, he was a man of varied interests and talents. Be it snowboarding, horticulture, landscaping, basketball, parlor games (ranging from darts to billiards, cards, and more), riding a unicycle, hanging with his dogs or playing the guitar, he excelled at everything he enjoyed and anything he decided to undertake.

Boomer was a Fisherman; blue and white marlin, yellowfin, bluefin, sailfish, big tarpon, 7lb largemouth bass and 40lb striped bass. He caught a 100lb sturgeon on 20lb test. He was a lover of great music, always seeking and sharing new stuff and going to see bands when they were in town. He and a group of his close friends had Celtics season tickets and saw a lot of great basketball together.

Boomer was confident enough, and humble enough, to circulate and make friends in any social group. He was a hub for all of us, a common thread that connected us and kept us so much closer together than we would have been without him.

In his last battle Boomer wrung every ounce of life and strength from his body, and in his fight taught us all what it really is to be brave and to be strong. He was always full of life. He was a man we trusted, respected, and dearly loved. We are immensely grateful for the memories we shared with him. His absence will be deeply felt, but we promise to keep his spirit alive in our hearts.

Rest in Peace.

This was a beautifully written obituary and a great picture. I know how hard it is to loose a sibling, but can only imagine the sorrow in loosing a son or husband. My heartfelt sympathies to Bev, John, Kim and his entire family.

A wonderful man and a wonderful friend. Though I knew him but a comparatively short while, I will carry with me always his warmth and love, his smile and his humor. He was an inspiration and living testament to the human spirit and its ability to endure against the odds no matter the odds. Much love, peace, and happiness to you, Scott, in the great beyond. Be at peace and know that you will be cherished by all of us forevermore.

Much sympathy and deepest condolences to the friends and family still here to carry on the torch of your memory forevermore.
