Shana Joanne Furlow was born March 16, 1984 at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Jennifer Furlow and Tyrone Furlow. Shana transitioned from her body at Chandler Hall Hospice Pavilion to be with our Lord on February 1, 2022 after a long, hard, courageous battle with rectal cancer.
Shana, affectionately known by her parents as Boo Boo and Baby Girl, was educated in the Bensalem Township (PA), Gloucester Township (NJ) and Berlin Township (NJ) School Districts.
Shana accepted Christ as her Lord and personal savior at a very young age and attended Green Grove Baptist Church in Berlin, New Jersey for a brief period.
Shana worked very hard her entire life, starting at age 13 at which time she was employed by Celebrations Banquet Hall in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. During her short tenure, she always kept a smile on her face even though she often encountered challenges while servicing customers. This experience afforded her the ability to become professional, communicate well and have no fear to take on any new challenge. At age 15, she moved onto Old Country Buffet, cleaning tables and stocking food trays. Every Thursday, she put on her Bee costume, did her happy dance, and greeted children with ice cream, cake, and balloons. She later worked at The Children's Place at Neshaminy Mall. Shana worked for these employers while still attending high school. After graduating, she attended Levittown Beauty Academy and earned her cosmetology license. She landed jobs at Super Cuts and The Hair Cuttery in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She was a master at cutting and had an enormous number of clients. She also worked at upscale salon, Metropolis Spa and Salon in Princeton, New Jersey. Shana always strived for more and took real estate classes online. She received her gaming license which landed her a job at Parx Casino. She was a great baccarat and black-jack dealer and was often pulled from her blackjack table when they needed their best baccarat dealer. She was later promoted to Dual Rate Supervisor. Shana remained at Parx Casino for nearly 10 years until her health declined.
Shana loved watching movies, television series, real estate, stock market and crypto investing, etc. She had a good listening ear and gave good advice when needed. She loved seafood, vacationing, hanging out with friends, listening to music, kids and having barbeques. She also loved animals and donated monthly to National Wildlife Federation in support of polar bear extinction and ASPCA. She despised animal cruelty. She absolutely loved her niece and nephew and often had sleepovers with them when she was feeling better.
Shana lived life to the fullest and was loved by many. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for family or friends. She was very giving and didn't mind picking up the tab when necessary. She was very independent and didn't like to ask anybody for anything. If she did, she was always willing to pay for the services. Sadly, she was taken away too soon and was not able to move away from Pennsylvania as planned, and to vacation in Dubai. Even with the many setbacks during her cancer fight, she still had goals and dreams. She wanted an adventure.
She was preceded in death by her special aunt, Iris Brown, and was hopeful she would be the Angel to take her to heaven. She was very strong and fought hard until she could no longer resist the calling of God to bring her home.
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories; her mother, Jennifer Furlow; her father, Tyrone Furlow; her brother, Tyrone Furlow, II; her sister-in-law, Amalia Ortiz-Furlow; her nephew, Izaiah Furlow; her niece, Amina Furlow; her grandmothers, Louise Walcott and Ida Furlow; her aunts, Lisa Jefferson, Ada Talley, Lisa Toomer and Angela Brown; her uncles, Peter Walcott, Maurice Talley, Elijah Brown (Toya), Patrick Walcott, Robert Brown and Ivan Brown; special cousins, Albert Smith, Angela Hockaday, Karen English, Nate Brown and Anita Foster; and a host of extended family, special friends, business associates and neighbors.
Family and friends are invited to call from 9 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 9, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
Sorrowfully Submitted,
The Family
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St, Suite 2820, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

I´m sorry for the intrusion on such a somber moment for you. I didn´t know her. I was actually searching for an individual with the same name and this post came up. I was intrigued when it turned out to be an obituary and I wanted to know about the person. She appeared to be a wonderful person and I´m sure you continue to struggle with her loss. I have lost my first born son back in 2016 and my girlfriend back in 2004. so I understand. I know it never gets better and you never get over it. But you do find means to get through it. Just remember her as the person she was. And remember the good times you shared. Thank you for sharing your story. And sharing her spirit with me. And most importantly, don´t blame yourselves. We tend to do that when we lose someone close to us. Don´t dwell on what wasn´t, but remember warmly what was. I sincerely hope this helps.

In loving memory of a wonderful daughter, coworker & friend. As a friend of Shana’s parents, I am warmed and touched by the loving tributes to the beautiful light of Shana’s soul. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and coworkers. In these early days of 2022, I keep asking myself “why is God amassing such an army of angels?“ He has welcomed his latest angel into his arms. God bless Jennifer, Ty, and Junior.

Count your gardens by the flowers, never by the leaves that fall. Count your days by golden hours, don't remember clouds at all. Count your nights by stars not shadows. Count your years with smiles not tears. Count your blessings, not your troubles. Count your age by friends, not years...

Shana ❤. She was a beautiful soul. We went to school together in Bensalem and worked together at old country buffet. She guided me through my first stock investment. We haven’t seen each other in a long time but she was always down for a good conversation and that’s what I’ll miss the most. My deepest sympathies go out to her family.
