It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon Hall Provost Brown on August 19, 2025. Surrounded by her family and friends, she ended her courageous 13-year battle with breast cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Sharon was a proud native of Nevada, born on August 17, 1947, in Yerington to Wilbur and Marie Hall. She graduated from Yerington High School in 1965, earning the affectionate nickname "Small Hall" and building lifelong friendships that would comfort her throughout her life.
Sharon's journey began when she married Ron Provost in Yerington, where they welcomed their son, Rodney, and later their daughter, Kristopher, after moving to Southern California. During these years, she devoted herself to her family while thriving as Sales Manager at an automobile dealership.
In 1978, the couple relocated to Denver, North Carolina, for Ron's job with Freightliner Truck Manufacturing. Sharon's strength and determination shone as she oversaw the building of their new home on Lake Norman, all while nurturing her children and working full-time. Following her separation from Ron in 1982, she returned to Nevada, seeking comfort and support among her family. She found fulfillment in her work at Omni-Means Engineering and earned a Nevada Real Estate License, showcasing her incredible adaptability.
During this time, Sharon met her beloved husband, George Brown, and they married in Genoa, NV, in 1990. They shared a passion for adventure, traveling to beautiful places like Africa, South America, Europe, and Australia. They even spent several years wintering in Mexico. In 1991, Sharon and George played a key role in establishing Bronco Billy's, one of Colorado's premier casinos, which remains a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit.
Sharon faced a life-altering diagnosis of breast cancer in 2012. With remarkable courage, she approached each challenge head-on, celebrating the end of her chemotherapy with a heartfelt ringing of the bell. Although the cancer metastasized five years later, Sharon remained a beacon of strength and grace, enduring adversity with her characteristic humor and warmth. Her spirit shone brightly, reminding everyone of the beauty of resilience.
Sharon's most incredible pride and joy came from her precious children and grandchildren, whose lives she actively participated in and celebrated. The loss of her granddaughter, Ellie, in infancy was a heartbreak she carried with her, but her love never waned. Her grandson, Aidan, who passed away in 2023, held a special place in her heart; their daily conversations were a source of joy for them both. She had a special relationship with each of her grandsons, traveling to see them wherever they were in the world. Her love and encouragement will continue to inspire them for the rest of their lives.
To know Sharon was truly to love her. Her radiant smile could light up the darkest rooms, and her warm, welcoming presence drew people in. She had a remarkable gift for listening and connecting, making conversations with her feel like cherished moments.
Sharon is now reunited in peace with her parents, Marie and Wilbur Hall, her granddaughter, Elliette Nicole Lincoln, her grandson, Aidan Madaket Lincoln, her nephew/godson, Evan Speight, and her adored in-laws, Bud and Dorothy Provost.
She leaves behind her husband, George J. Brown; her son, Rodney (Trissa) Provost; her daughter, Kristopher (Curtis) Lincoln; and her treasured grandsons, Greysen Lincoln, Nate Provost, Travis Provost, and Carson Provost. Sharon is also survived by her beloved sisters, Maureen Hall and Kathee (Phil) Speight, her brother Fred (Kathy) Hall, her caring nephews, Jeremy Hall and Darrin Hall, and her stepdaughters, Deborah (Pat) Vittucci, and Sheila (Cort) Christie.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be held in October.
