(June 10, 1967-December 7, 2018) Pittsburgh, PA. After a brief illness, Sharon passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2018. As the eldest of the 'Glumac Girls,' and after the untimely death of their mother, Phyllis Jean (Szolek) Glumac, in 1998, Sharon often took on the role of 'In-charge' big sister. Her wonderfully intentioned, humorously tolerated efforts at 'pseudo-mothering' siblings, Linda (Glumac) Renk and Angel Glumac (formerly Graney), were epic. Sharon seemed to forget the fact that they were each a year apart. She is survived by her former husband, Rajat Roy, with whom she remained friends, and their only son, Akshay Roy, whom they lovingly co-parented. Also left behind are her father, Louis M. Glumac; nieces and nephews, Ashley and Austin Renk (father Joseph B. Renk III), Caitlin and Nicholas Graney (father Sean Graney), nieces Tarini and Nirati (parents Mamata and Narenda Nayak), in-laws Subimal and Usha Roy, and her beloved 'furbabies,' Rocky and Athena. Sharon was a 1985 graduate of Baldwin High School, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, with a major in Accounting, and a minor in Law. Sharon will be remembered as a lively, artistic, confident, young woman, whose absence will be greatly felt in our lives. Friends and extended family are invited to lovingly reminisce, celebrate the life and gently mourn the death of our dearly departed Sharon. Please join us at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227, 412-881-4100 on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral procession to cemetery will be immediate family only. You are welcome to bring photos that you may have of Sharon - to share or place on her memory board. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Organization of your choice, which is something that Sharon would have greatly appreciated. Please send condolences to:

Sharon loved her son with all her heart. She adored being a mom. I never met him but she told me many stories that i felt i knew him. She lovingly looked after her father and She definitly spoiled her two beloved dogs. I am at a loss for words of her passing. I didnt know or i would have reached out. My deepst sympathy for her family.
