PORTSMOUTH-Sharon Kay (Vallandingham) Seymore, 79, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at St. Ann's Hospital in Columbus. She was born April 9, 1943, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Dewey Earl and Virginia Marcella Mowery Vallandingham.
Sharon worked at G&J Pepsi for 43 years and retired as Comptroller and she was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ. She was a member of the James Dickey Post #23 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club. A past worthy matron of the former Portsmouth and Wheelersburg Eastern Star Chapters, she held four state appointments within the organization. Sharon was also a 1961 graduate of Valley High School and she received an Associate Degree in Accounting from the former Portsmouth Interstate Business College.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles Robert "Bob" Seymore, whom she married December 22, 1972, in Portsmouth. Together, the couple enjoyed traveling the country on their motorcycle.
Also surviving is her sister, Patricia Gail (Chaney Bayes) Vallandingham-Oliver of Columbus; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Jo (Richard) Mershon.
A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, Minister, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
