Sharon Villeneuve Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 3, 2008.
St. Albans
Mrs. Sharon L. Villeneuve, age 64, of St. Albans, Vermont passed from our midst Monday, September 1, 2008, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 30, 1944, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, daughter of Harold and Vera (MacDonald) Deblois. In 1962 she graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy. On June 4, 1966 she married the love of her life, Donald Villeneuve. Sharon enjoyed each moment of life to the fullest.

She was mother to three sons, but cared for many more during her years at Stoney Acres Daycare. Sharon loved to travel, snowmobile, boat, play cards, meet with her weekly luncheon club, and spend time with family and friends. She was a longtime supporter of the St. Albans hockey program, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Chapter 321. Her greatest and abiding joy came from her three adoring granddaughters Ella, Ava, and Anna. She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 42 years, Donald Villeneuve of St. Albans; son David and his fiancee Nanette Post of Waterbury; son Craig, his wife Sara, and their daughter Anna of Fletcher; son Dale, his wife Natalie and their daughters Ella and Ava of Richmond; brother in law Ronald Villeneuve and his wife Tawnna of Enfield, NH; sister in law and god mother Diane Rousseau and her husband Charles of Fruitland Park, FL; brother in law Raymond Villeneuve of Yalesville, CT; nephew Scott Villeneuve and his wife Rebecca; niece Samantha Villeneuve; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; and her two ""other boys"" Peter and Tom McGinn. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Vera (McDonald) Deblois, as well as her in-laws, Cyril and Beatrice Villeneuve.

The family is very greatful for those who gave special care to Sharon including Dr. Thomas and his staff at Vermont Center for Cancer Medicine, The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Burlington, Northwest Medical Center, Fletcher Allen Hospital and the endless cards, gifts and prayers from family, friends and neighbors.

A mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Fairfield Street in St. Albans. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home 86 South Main Street, St. Albans, Vermont 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, 86 South Main Street, St. Albans, Vermont. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 237 East Avenue, Burlington, Vermont 05401. Online condolences may be made by the funeral home website: www. bnlfh. com. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.

Donald, I am broken hearted over the loss of Sharon, as I know you are too. Sharon was more than a sister-in-law - she was my sister, my friend, my goddaughter, and a person I always looked up to. I will always remember the wonderful times we spent together & cherish all of them. You know I am here for you whenever you need me, as is Chuck. Call upon us any time. With all my love, Diane

To the Villeneuve family:

We were deeply sorry to hear about the loss of Sharon. She was a wonderful person whom I enjoyed talking with during the many sporting events that we both attended. She was a mother who was proud of her family and provided friendship to many within the community. She will be dearly missed. I hope the happy memories you all have will support you through this very difficult time.

We had the pleasure of meeting Sharon at Stoney Acres Daycare. Sharon was so easy to talk to and very friendly. We just liked her so much and were sad to see her go.
She told us when she left that she couldn't wait to travel to Florida to see family!

We are so sorry to hear of Sharon's passing. Sharon watched our 2 young children at Stoney Acres daycare and was so kind and loving with our children. She was also quite a hoot! We enjoyed joking around with her when we would get there in the afternoons to pick up our children. We could always tell how much she truly enjoyed the children and you could hear the excitement in her voice when she would talk about her grandchildren. She will truly be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
