Shawn Kennedy Obituary
January 25, 1963 - January 30, 2023
Shawn O'Brian Kennedy passed away suddenly on January 30, 2023, in Ukiah, California. He was born to Carolyn and Donald Kennedy of Santa Rosa on January 25, 1963. Shawn has three brothers Dion, Tim and Donovan, all of Santa Rosa.
Shawn attended Cook Jr. High School where he enjoyed being on the wrestling team. He graduated from Montgomery High School in 1981. Shawn met Yvette Ingley in 1978 and they married in 1985. They made their home in Santa Rosa where their son Derek (wife Tashi, and grandkids Kingston and Ever) and daughter Amanda (fiancé Ryan, and grandkids Talen, Lillian, Easton and Brinley) were born. They then moved to Ukiah in 1990 where they had their son Kyle.
Shawn was an amazing Dad, brother, son and a loving and helpful friend to so many. Shawn loved camping at the Kennedy cabin, racing cars at Petaluma and Ukiah Speedways, going to the drag races with his son, Kyle, bmx racing with son, Derek and daughter, Amanda, watching Derek and Kyle play football and watching Amanda cheerlead. He also enjoyed working around his house, where he tinkered in his beloved shop with many projects. However, his biggest accomplishment was being a well sought after diesel mechanic. He worked for Bill Binns Machine Shop for 23 years, receiving countless certifications. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by so many.
A celebration of life will be held at The Saturday Afternoon Clubhouse, 107 South Oak St., Ukiah, CA, on March 25th, 2023, at noon. Friends and family are invited to attend.
