STOCKTON, - Sheila Joy "Shirley" Paul Rische, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007.

She was born May 31, 1926, in Park Ridge.

She was and is well-loved. She loved her life, all of the people in it, and all of the people who might someday have been in it. She had many interests prior to her debilitating illness - among other activities, she volunteered as a juvenile probation officer, was a library volunteer and Bible Study leader, taught tole-painting classes, gathered food for tornado relief, assisted families in need, was "Extra Mother" to friends and neighbors, and was a lover of nature. The lung disease that took her life was not able to take with it her vibrancy, curiosity, warmth, unique vision of each and every one of us, or her passion of the arts, of seeing and feeling facets of life that other people miss. Her family and friends only hope that they can honor those qualities in living their lives with the passion with which she lived hers. Her friends and family will miss her and proudly live with her in their souls, hearts and pockets.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; her children, Kurt (Patty), Scott (Laurie), Jan (Lori), Mark (Lynn), Kim (Nancy), Kevin (Iva), Christopher (Caren), Holly, Craig (Sidonie), Forrest (Sharon), David (Roxanne), Troy (Elise) and Rebecca (James) Lambiris; her grandchildren, Rachel (Yaakov), Ashley (Todd), Trevor (Amanda), Travis, Trent and Megan, Heather, Reed, Tonette, Josh, Vicki and Jeffrey, Shane and Brent, Eri (Gavin), Kate (Christian), Tyler (Tracy), Peter, Seth, Carter and Trey, Nathan, Daniel and Elizabeth (fiancé Brad), Jacob (Bonnie), Jaime (fiancé Carlos) and Autumn (Marcus), Danny, Darcy (Jame) and Billy, Betsy Kate, Emily (Dukho), Christian (fiancé Kat), Clayton and Adrienne, Loren, Amber Dawn (fiancé Bobby), Scarlett, Frank, Grace, Lillie Mae and Joshua, Hunter and Ryan, Jessica, Sarah, Morgan, Jake, Cody, Dalton and Rebecca, and Shanon, Timothy, Christina (Steve), Matthew and Alana; her great-grandchildren, Chaim, Esther, Aharon, Meir, Sara, Zisa, Gavin, Max, Ace, Olivia, Griffin, Zaideh, Eiden, Andrew, Julia, Rowan, Tayloranne, Gabriel, Anthonoy, Jordan, Jared, Caden, Trinity, Emma Kate, Kiernan, Lexie, Breydan, Kathryn and Ethan; her brothers, Robin and Todd (Barbara); brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Dorothy; eight neices and nephews; and Karen, Larry S., Karen B. and Val O.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Uriah, Taylor and Zachary.

There will be a private memorial service.
