Sheryl Anne McKinzie

Sheryl Anne McKinzie 67 of Shelbyville transitioned peacefully to her eternal home on July 1st surrounded by love and family.



She was born in Lebanon, Indiana and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky where she attended Fern Creek High School. Sheryl had a small circle of friends which she remained close with over the years. She loved the beach and enjoyed many years living in Florida before she moved to Tennessee.



Sheryl deeply loved her family and had a special bond with her animals. She was most proud of her accomplishments in the horse show ring notably winning the Kiwanis Club Horse Show PWHAT High Point Award with her cherised Electricity.



Her life was defined by her compassionate spirit for all. A talented organist and pianist, her passion for music was inspired and nurtured by her beloved Grandmother, Mary. Sheryl shared her gift of music throughout her life whether playing clarinet in her high school band or playing the organ at family holidays or church functions. Her faith was central to her life and she found joy and community with her loving church family at Fellowship for Christ Church.



Sheryl is survived by her father, Kenneth McKinzie of the Villages, Florida; sisters Sue Balboa (Mark Meredith) of Louisville, Kentucky and Amy Laveck of Jacksonville, Florida; nieces and nephews, Amber Sutter (Nick) of Canton, Georgia, Leah Balboa of Atlanta, Georgia, Andrew, Mackenzie and Jacob of Jacksonville, Florida; aunt Sharon West (Bob) uncle David McKinzie of the Villages, Florida and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, dear friends and her much loved canine companion Queenie.



A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, July 30 from 6-8PM at Fellowship for Christ Church, 142 Richdale Lane, Shelbyville. Colorful attire is encouraged
