Shirley B. Shleifer

Shirley B. Shleifer, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. She was the wife of the late Myer Shleifer, with whom she shared 53 years of loving marriage. Personal: Born in Beaver Falls, Shirley was the daughter of the late Joseph and Tillie (Soodek) Berkowitz. She was a homemaker, and greatly loved her children and grandchildren. She was adored by all who knew her. Survivors: Son Dr. Harry Shleifer and his wife Ruthie of Bethlehem; daughter Barbara Asteak and her husband Gary of Easton; grandchildren Sage Asteak and her husband Dennis Burrell, Quinn Asteak, Judah Shleifer and his wife Kathryn Pell, Gabriel Shleifer and his wife Julianna, and Dena Shleifer; great-grandson Owen J. Shleifer. Services: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Congregation Brith Sholom, 1190 W. Macada Rd, Bethlehem, 18017, where friends may call from Noon until time of services. Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to the Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
