To the entire Seely Family,

My deepest sympathies to the entire family, regrettably we will be out of town and unable to attend the memorial service in Grosse Pointe.

I want to say that the great times we had growing up with your family during the summers out on Union Lake will always be some of my most cherished memories. As a little boy, I always looked forward to the Seely caravan to arrive in early June, it was then that I knew summer had began. Your family added such a spice of character, culture and fun to the neighborhood, we had some great times!

I always felt that Shirley was one of my greatest fans growing up, doting on me like a Mother. I am not sure if I was that special to her, but she sure did make me feel like I was. I will always remember her kindness, her stories, and most of all, her gift of listening. She was one of those people that truly made you feel like you were the most important person in the room when you were with her.

This is perhaps the most admired trait I think a person can have.

Doug.
