Shirley YEE Obituary

Published by Calgary Herald on Aug. 14, 2015.
YEE, Shirley
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Yee on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, AB. Shirley was courageous and determined over her 7 year battle which provided wonderful extra years with her family and many lasting memories. Shirley was born June 19, 1947 in Brandon, Manitoba. Shirley is survived by her husband and constant companion, Wee Yee; her loving children, daughter, Velvet Beaumont and her partner, Shelley; son, Derek Coffyne and his wife, Yoshika; and Shirley's instant smile ignitor's, grandchildren, Roy, Reanno and Raela. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Beaumont in September of 2014; and father, Roy Beaumont in October of 1997. Her determination and hard work ethic was exhibited in working a full time day job and going to school at night to graduate with her CMA designation. Her kind heart, honesty, morals and sense of caring traits live on in her children and grandchildren. Her fun loving, social graces and strong fashion and decorating sense endured her to family and the many friends she amassed over the years, ranging from fellow travelers, the "Bridge Girls" to her Calgary Stampede family. Our family wishes to thank the wonderful Doctors, nurses and staff at the Tom Baker for their professionalism, caring and kindness over the years and especially for the dignity provided to Shirley and our family at the end. Please consider making a donation in Shirley's name to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre so they may continue to provide the research and development to find a cure for this horrible disease. Tom Baker Cancer Center, 1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.myalternatives.ca.

I was very sad to hear that Shirley has
died. We had so many wonderful times
together and I am happy to think back. The feasts! our golf, our skiing - we had so much fun just hanging out from day 1.
My sympathies to you ,Wee and family.

Wee, our hearts are aching for you and your family, we are so saddened by the loss of Shirley. She had the most beautiful smile and the warmest laugh, we loved her so very much, how lucky were we to have known such an amazing woman. When I first met Shirley back in 1992, our friendship was instant and I adored her, I think of you both more than you know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time Wee, please take care and we hope to see you soon.

Wee and family, Marjie and I are so sad to hear of Shirley's passing. She put up an amazing and valiant fight against the horrid disease. Shirley was a wonderful person and will be missed by her family and friends and by the entire Stampede family. Our thoughts are with you.

I loved Shirley from the moment I met her by the campfire in Panorama after Lindsay and I'd finished summer camp... I think people are remembered by how they made us feel. If my theory is right, Shirley will always be remembered warmly, with a smile, and a hug. And then there's her cheesecake... I'm grateful to have known Shirley, and the world will be just a little less bright without her.

Love to Wee, and well loved family. xxx

Wee, I'll never forget my friend Shirley.
We had lots of giggles over the years.
During the long weekend @ Windermere, we drove by your old cabin, & I said a prayer for Shirley. You're in my thoughts.
